Colorado School of Healing Arts

Learning at the Colorado School of Healing Arts places you in a massage therapy education setting rooted in Denver’s broader wellness and healing arts community. The CSHA campus is located in Lakewood, just west of downtown Denver, offering a setting that balances focused classroom learning with access to the cultural and outdoor offerings of the surrounding area.

About Denver

Denver is often called the “Mile High City” and is known for its mix of urban spaces, parks, and access to outdoor recreation. During the summer months, the region hosts seasonal events and activities, including farmers markets, outdoor concerts, and festivals. Nearby attractions include the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Denver Zoo, and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, as well as an extensive network of parks and trails throughout the metro area.

Getting Around

Travel to the Denver area is typically via Denver International Airport. From the airport, the RTD A Line commuter train connects DEN to Union Station in approximately 37 minutes.

From Union Station, there are several transportation options to reach the Colorado School of Healing Arts campus in Lakewood. The RTD W Line light rail travels westbound toward Lakewood, with additional connection by local bus or rideshare for the final segment. RTD bus routes also connect downtown Denver with Lakewood neighborhoods. Rideshare services and taxis are widely available and provide direct point-to-point travel from Union Station to the campus.

A range of hotels are located near the Colorado School of Healing Arts campus in Lakewood, as well as in nearby Denver neighborhoods. Professional Prerequisites
Licensed/registered massage therapists, student massage therapists who have completed 500+ hours of accredited school training, and other maternity care professionals with a touch scope of practice including bodyworkers (Structural Integration practitioner, Rolfer, etc.), physical therapists, doulas, midwives, nurses, and physicians are welcome.

  • A continuum of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum hands-on care to meet people's physical and emotional needs including adaptations for special needs clients with high-risk conditions and complications.

  • 80+ specific hands-on pre- and perinatal techniques that alleviate prenatal, labor and postpartum complaints; facilitate relaxation, pain reduction and increase clients’ kinesthetic awareness and birth readiness; restore and rebalance postpartum core integrity, movement and emotions; and reduce the musculoskeletal strain of childcare activities.

  • Comfortable, safe, evidence-based client positioning options for pregnancy, labor and postpartum that are also superbly applicable to other client populations.

  • Relevant pre- and perinatal physiology, anatomy and functional movement that inform evidence-based precautions for pre- and perinatal massage therapy.

  • Professional approaches that nurture mother–centered care and well-being with business practices, ethics, and interdisciplinary collaborations in all types of healthcare and work environments - private practice, health clinics and businesses, spas, and hospitals.

  • Guidance in career-protective professional body mechanics.
