Professional Prerequisites
Licensed/registered massage therapists, student massage therapists who have completed 500+ hours of accredited school training, and other maternity care professionals with a touch scope of practice including bodyworkers (Structural Integration practitioner, Rolfer, etc.), physical therapists, doulas, midwives, nurses, and physicians are welcome.

  • Evidence-based skills and knowledge, not mythology, based on the third edition of "Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy - A Comprehensive Guide to Prenatal, Labor and Postpartum Practice" (2021) to enhance healthier outcomes for all mothers and their babies.

  • A continuum of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum hands-on care to meet people's physical and emotional needs including adaptations for special needs clients with high-risk conditions and complications.

  • 80+ specific hands-on pre- and perinatal techniques that alleviate prenatal, labor and postpartum complaints; facilitate relaxation, pain reduction and increase clients’ kinesthetic awareness and birth readiness; restore and rebalance postpartum core integrity, movement and emotions; and reduce the musculoskeletal strain of childcare activities.

  • Comfortable, safe, evidence-based client positioning options for pregnancy, labor and postpartum that are also superbly applicable to other client populations.

  • Relevant pre- and perinatal physiology, anatomy and functional movement that inform evidence-based precautions for pre- and perinatal massage therapy.

  • Professional approaches that nurture mother–centered care and well-being with business practices, ethics, and interdisciplinary collaborations in all types of healthcare and work environments - private practice, health clinics and businesses, spas, and hospitals.

  • Guidance in career-protective professional body mechanics.

Yellow Barn Farm

Yellow Barn Farm is a historic 100-acre regenerative farm nestled in the foothills of northern Colorado, just outside of Boulder and Longmont. Originally established as an equestrian property, the farm has been reimagined as a community gathering space focused on sustainability, education, agriculture, and wellness. The property features scenic mountain views, open fields, gardens, walking paths, and a beautifully restored yellow barn that serves as the heart of the farm. Throughout the year, Yellow Barn hosts workshops, educational programs, community events, and farm-to-table experiences that encourage connection with the land and one another.

About Longmont

Located along Colorado's Front Range, Longmont offers a blend of small-town charm, outdoor recreation, and easy access to nearby Boulder and Rocky Mountain destinations. Visitors can explore downtown Longmont's local shops, restaurants, breweries, and art galleries, or enjoy outdoor spaces such as St. Vrain Greenway, McIntosh Lake, and nearby hiking trails. The area is known for its vibrant local food scene, scenic mountain views, and welcoming community atmosphere. With Boulder just 15 minutes away and Rocky Mountain National Park within easy driving distance, Longmont provides an excellent base for exploring northern Colorado before or after the workshop.

Getting Around

Travel to the Longmont area is typically through Denver International Airport, located approximately 45 minutes south of Yellow Barn Farm by car. Rental cars are available at the airport and are often the most convenient transportation option for visitors staying in the area.

Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft operate throughout Longmont, Boulder, and the surrounding communities. While public transportation is available through the regional RTD transit system, most workshop participants find that a personal vehicle or rideshare service offers the greatest flexibility when traveling between lodging, dining, and the workshop venue.

A variety of lodging options are available throughout Longmont, including hotels, boutique inns, vacation rentals, and extended-stay accommodations. Additional lodging can be found in nearby Boulder, which offers a broader selection of hotels, restaurants, and local attractions.

For participants seeking a more immersive experience, limited glamping accommodations are available on-site at Yellow Barn Farm through Peak Pop-Up Glamping. These unique on-site lodging options provide an opportunity to stay on the property and enjoy the farm's peaceful setting and scenic surroundings.
